Derrick Jackson is an investigator, volunteer fire fighter and entrepreneur. He enjoyed a long-term career in law enforcement as a fraud investigator for various local and state agencies, where he led and managed complex and sensitive criminal investigations.
As his career as an investigator began to wind down in 2016, Derrick pursued his passion for culinary arts and became the owner and operator of DJay’s Fish Fry- a food truck specializing in grilled seafood, chicken, seafood tacos, and fried fish-n-chips. In this capacity, Derrick participates in numerous festivals and outdoor special events throughout the Hudson Valley region and in New Jersey.
Derrick holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from SUNY, Empire State College and he is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Derrick also completed a culinary arts adult education program at Orange-Ulster BOCES and has a certificate in food protection.
When he is not working on the food truck, Derrick is involved in community service activities and loves to cook delicious, creative meals for his wife and their three children.
